Established on 31st January 1982, GG Hospital is currently a four-storied, seventy five bedded hospital covering all specialities in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Cardiology and general medicine, pediatrics and neonatology and general surgery. As a super speciality hospital, it deals with all aspects of infertility and Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART).
Fertility Research Center (FRC), a unit of GG Hospital was first established in the year 1986. It is the pioneering institute for ART in South India. With a fully equipped state of the art IVF laboratory, it serves about 2000 to 2300 childless couples every year from India and abroad.
The hospital has a well equipped general cum laparoscopic surgical theatre with an adjoining labor suite , neonatal intensive care unit, radio diagnostics and clinical laboratory, ultrasound imaging department, emergency room and an in house pharmacy. Several diagnostic and operative procedures are performed including hysterolaparoscopy, fertility enhancing laparoscopic surgeries besides surgery for male infertility.
The regularly updated library is equipped with all the latest books for assisted reproduction, andrology, ultrasonography, obstetrics and gynecology, high risk pregnancy, pediatrics, endoscopy, genetics, endocrinology, cardiology and basic sciences like embryology, anatomy, physiology, microbiology, histology, and biochemistry. The facility for wireless internet access is being negotiated.
