Life is worth living only when you savour every bit of it. I have relished every moment of my life. When my friends and relatives coaxed me to write my autobiography, I was reluctant. But when my daughter Kamala Selvaraj repeatedly requested me to do so, I couldn't refuse. 'Vaazhkai Padagu' began to take shape.
I have been closest to my mother Gangamma and my wife Bobji. Their unstinting support and unconditional love have helped me sail through life's choppy waters. I am grateful to them for always being there for me.
I began life as an academician and went on to make a career as film actor. I am thankful to all those who helped me make this transition smooth and successful. I am especially grateful to SS Vasan, Pattanna, Nagi Reddy, Chakrapani and AV Meyyappa Chettiar.
I was an only child. I lost my father when I was barely eight years old. I did not have the resources or emotional support to help me pursue a career of my choice. However, I am happy that I have been able to guide, encourage and support my children in the successful pursuit of their respective careers.
I thank all my friends and fans for their affection, support and role in shaping my career and life. I pray for their well-being and happiness.
I gratefully acknowledge the work put in by Jayashree Vishwanath. Her patience and co-operation has helped make 'Vaazhkai Padagu' a reality. |
